
York Redoubt
Travel
along Purcell's Cove road and enjoy history, natural beauty
and a break from the beaten path. Not far from Ramsgate Lane,
York Redoubt is a 200-year old fortification situated
on a high bluff overlooking the entrance to Halifax Harbour.
Established in 1793, it was a key element in the defence
of Halifax Harbour during the second half of the 19th century.

at the traffic lights onto Purcells Cove road. Continue for approx.
2kms along Purcells Cove Rd. Turn right onto Ramsgate Lane and first
right again at the Fleming Park Estates and 5 Ramsgate sign. |
